Data Cabling, Exeter Science Park,
Our team at Neutral Energy Solutions was recently contracted by a local construction company to install data cabling at The Exeter Science Park.
Data cabling refers to the installation of cables to transmit information between computers, servers, and other network devices. This will enable the Science Park to have a reliable and efficient network infrastructure, which is crucial for the functioning of the businesses and organisations that operate within the park.
During the data cabling project, our team caused minimal disruption to the park. By doing this, we worked during the evenings. We look forward to doing more work at The Exeter Science Park soon.
Packexe – Commercial – ASHP - 2022
We installed an LG air source heat pump at the Packexe Head Quarters to provide heating to their offices. Following a site survey where we conducted bespoke and accurate heat loss calculations, we sized the system based on their requirements and specified a suitable solution, using products in line with their budget. The installation had complexities such as the desired location of the heat pump being elevated and wall mounted above ground level which meant that we needed to arrange specialist lifting equipment. It also needed to be integrated into the existing infrastructure and control system.
Cathedral School – Commercial – ASHP – 2023
Like many schools across the country, Exeter Cathedral School are working to reduce their environmental impact; working as part of their strategy to achieve this, Neutral Energy Solutions installed a replacement Daikin air source heat pump to provide heating to part of their school. The school is now benefitting from a clean heating system and have reduced their reliance on fossil fuel. To ensure the system was working efficiently, we conducted several tests and commissioning procedures before handing over the installation to the school. We also provided training to the school's staff on how to operate and maintain the heat pump.
The Gospel Hall – Domestic – ASHP – 2022
The Gospel Hall, previously a religious building located in the South West of England, is a project Neutral Energy completed in 2022 – this was a unique project that was also filmed for Great British Home Restoration (a channel 4 documentary). It comprised of an extensive refurbishment to convert the old commercial Gospel Hall into a residential dwelling and we were contracted to design the heating for the building. We started by conducting a thorough site survey to determine the heating requirements of the building and the suitability of the location for the installation. Based on our findings, we recommended a 16kW air source heat pump paired with an underfloor heating system, which would provide efficient heating for the building. The underfloor heating and air source heat pump combination has provided a modern and comfortable heating solution that is both cost-effective and sustainable.
Domestic – ASHP – 2023
We were contacted by a homeowner who was looking to have an air source heat pump installed to power their heating and hot water system amongst other various renovation works to their property. Conducting a full survey, we completed heat loss calculations to ensure the system was sized correctly and the individual radiators were suitably sized for each room. The client wanted the heat pump to fit with the aesthetics of the rest of their property, so we arranged bespoke vinyl wrapping of the heat pump in matt black and matched the colour of the pipe lagging ensuring a seamless and attractive installation. As MCS certified installers we were able to install this under the BUS scheme, making it a very affordable installation for our client.
China Blue – Commercial – Solar PV – 2023
Our client, a local business in Totnes, approached us with a goal of reducing their energy costs and carbon footprint. After a thorough assessment of their energy usage and site conditions, we recommended a 15kW solar PV system, which could generate enough clean energy to cover a significant portion of their electricity needs. Following an application to the National Grid, the installation took place over a period of a week and involved the installation of 36 solar panels on the roof of the client's premises. We also installed an inverter, a monitoring system, and a new electrical switchboard to ensure that the solar system would integrate seamlessly with the existing electrical infrastructure. Since the installation, our client has seen a significant reduction in their energy bills and the solar system is also helping them to achieve their sustainability goals and reduce their carbon footprint.
Millstead Langdon – Commercial – Solar PV – 2022
On behalf of the main contractor on this site, we designed and installed a 40kW solar PV system onto the South, East & West elevations of the building. Due to utilising multiple roof elevations, the system required an in depth technical string design to ensure optimum efficiency and performance. The solar panels were also installed with environmentally friendly mesh to prevent birds roosting underneath the panels. Once the installation was complete, we conducted a comprehensive testing and commissioning process to ensure that the system was operating at peak performance. We also provided training to the client's staff on how to monitor and maintain the system and offered ongoing support and maintenance services.
Griffins Almshouses – Domestic – 2023
We were contacted by Griffins Almshouses, a housing association charity in Exeter, who were generously looking to reduce their beneficiaries’ living costs. We conducted an energy audit and determined that a solar PV installation would be the best solution to meet their goals. After a thorough consultation with the client, we designed and installed a 1.6kWp solar PV system on the roof of each of their houses. The solar system has enabled the charity to generate a significant portion of their beneficiaries’ electricity needs through clean, renewable energy, resulting in substantial savings on their energy bills. Additionally, the system is helping them to achieve their sustainability goals by reducing their carbon footprint.
Mary Tavy – Domestic – 2022
We were contacted by a customer in Mary Tavy who was looking to reduce his electricity bills and carbon footprint by installing a solar PV system. We had to adhere to an aesthetic specification as the property fell into planning restrictions and special design considerations were needed as the property also had to comply with The Conservation of Habitats & Species Regulations due to bat roosting. Following a full roof structural survey and an application to the National Grid due to the size of the proposed installation, Neutral Energy installed 14 'all black' solar panels complete with a 5kW GivEnergy inverter and 15.6kWh battery storage system, all of which were sized on the customers bespoke energy requirements. We’ve helped this homeowner in Mary Tavy become more sustainable and efficient through the installation of a solar PV system. This project demonstrates the benefits of solar PV installations for domestic clients, which can help them save money and contribute to a cleaner environment.
